Megan Thee Stallion shooting case Tory Lanez denied bail

At the MTV VMAs 2023, Megan Thee Stallion recently gave a performance that received much positive feedback. Tory Lanez, accused and found guilty of shooting her foot, pleads with the court to grant him bail. According to a recent Rolling Stone story, the judge turned down his bail request. Everything you need to know about the report and the story is here.

A Los Angeles judge recently refused rapper Tory Lanez’s plea for release while he awaits the outcome of his appeal. Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August for his role in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Daystar Peterson, also known as Tory Lanez, tried to avoid going to jail while contesting his convictions on three felony counts connected to the shooting event.

The bail plea was rejected by the case’s judge, David Herriford. The judge emphasised Lanez’s history of disobeying court orders, which includes prior violations of protective orders and the seriousness of the “violent felony” for which he was found guilty. In addition, Lanez’s citizenship as a Canadian sparked worries about the prospect of expulsion. During the court, Lanez was represented by lawyers Crystal Morgan and Michael Hayden from the charitable legal organisation Unite the People. According to Lanez’s legal team, despite the defeat, this was only the first round of the appellate process, according to Rolling Stone.
