Rapper Tory Lanez was convicted guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion and given a 10-year prison term. According to People, he addressed the court and asked for a second chance rather than a punishment.
Lanez underlined the seriousness of the charges brought against him and pleaded with the judge to give him another chance to establish his innocence. He also addressed how people perceive him, stating that he is not a heartless monster, and he apologised for his errors the night of the event, according to People. Tory claimed that Megan was his friend, and the two of them grew close after both lost their mothers. Tory asked for a second chance to prove that he had learned his lesson and took full responsibility for his errors.
The rapper’s punishment was given on Tuesday in Los Angeles following nearly two full days of sentencing hearings in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He was given a 10-year prison sentence. Tory might have received a penalty as long as 22 years. Throughout the previous three months, the sentencing was continued several times, and Tory once begged the judge, “Please don’t ruin my life, sir.”
