Meera Jasmine father Joseph Philip dies at the age of 83 from age-related causes

Meera Jasmine took to Instagram to grieve her father’s loss and share loving memories of him.

Meera’s father, Joseph Philip, died in Ernakulam at the age of 83 from age-related complications, according to Manorama Online. The actor rushed to Instagram to confirm her father’s death and share fond memories of him.

The actress posted an old, monochromatic photo of her father from when he was younger, as well as family photos taken with him over the years. Meera is shown in one of the photos standing behind her father, grasping his shoulders.

She tagged her family members and wrote, “Until we meet again,” accompanied with a heart and infinity emoji. Many followers posted condolence words under her post, supporting her in mourning the death of her father.

According to the website, Meera’s father suffered from age-related diseases and died peacefully in Ernakulam, Kerala. He spent many years in Mumbai and then in Tirumala before returning to his homeland of Ernakulam later in life.

His funeral will take place on Sunday, while the last rites will be held on Saturday. Aside from Meera, he is survived by his wife Aleyamma and three children: Sarah Robin Joseph, Jeni Susan Joseph, and George Joseph.

Jasmine has established herself in the Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema industry since her debut in 2001 with the Malayalam film Soothradharan. Run, a 2002 Tamil film, and Telugu films such as Gudumba Shankar and Bhadra both helped her gain prominence.

She later collaborated with prominent filmmakers like as Mani Ratnam for Aaytha Ezhuthu and SS Stanley for Mercury Pookkal.

Meera has made a comeback with the Malayalam film Makal (2022) and the Telugu film Vimanam (2023). She was last seen in the Malayalam film Queen Elizabeth and will soon appear in the Tamil film The Test. S Sashikant directs the film, which will also star Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth.
