Rajamouli’s RRR emerged as a massive critical and commercial success in 2022. Interestingly, the film was sent to the Oscars by the makers under the “For Your Consideration” section. It has since made all the right noises globally.
Now, as the best news for the biggie, Hollywood producer Jason Blum has predicted that RRR will win the Oscar for Best Picture. He added that he will give himself his Oscar if the prediction proves to be correct.
Getting into the news, Jason Blum, the founder of the production banner Blumhouse, has boldly predicted that RRR will take home the Academy Award for “Best Picture.” He took to Twitter and wrote, “I’m going with RRR winning best picture.” You heard it here first. Mark it down, please. “If I’m right, I am awarding myself my own Oscar (sic).”
His comments surfaced on the internet after Oscar winner Jessica Chastain called RRR “such a party.” The film has also won several international honours, which is no mean feat.
RRR is a period drama that features Jr. NTR and Ram Charan as the tribal leader Komaram Bheem and the revolutionary Alluri Sita Rama Raju, respectively. The ensemble cast includes Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Makarand Deshpande, and Olivia Morris, among others. MM Keeravani composed the music.
