Mamamoo’s Hwasa makes her comeback says I cried a lot

MAMAMOO’s Hwasa about Hatred

MAMAMOO’s Hwasa who changed her agency to P’Nation owned by Psy recently dropped the music video teaser of her upcoming album with the title track “I Love My Body”. This digital single is set to drop on September 6 at 6 PM KST.

The song teaser starts off with a sophisticated beat with an addictive chorus walking confidently alongside dancers revealing her charisma. This is the first album of Hwasa after changing to P’NATION.

The singer who is always on the front line to break taboos surrounding beauty and body standards in Korea opened up about why she chose this song talking about the controversy due to public indecency.

Hwasa said, I went on MAMAMOO’s US tour and the day I arrived, I got so many Kakao Talk messages. I thought, ‘Something must’ve happened,’ and checked messages. I heard that the way I performed on stage was controversial but the hate comments this time were way top. I didn’t brush it off my mind even when I performed at our first pretending I was fine.

As soon as the show was over, I burst into tears. We were in our hotel’s elevator, and I remember bawling my eyes out when we were cheering each other after the show. I cried the hardest I’ve cried all year while my tears were flooding like waterfalls. I told Wheein, I was going to get some fresh air outside and cried in a hotel’s parking lot.

This was before I signed with P Nation but Psy sent me “I Love My Body”. I smiled for the first time during our U.S. tour. The title made me laugh and the song refreshed my mood. She emphasized that it’s important to filter out the ones that are excessively hurtful.
