Major Not Up to the Mark?

Adivi Sesh’s Major movie has garnered a very positive word of mouth on the first day. Even though critically acclaimed too, the trade sources say that the movie is not up to the mark regarding collections. The film is doing exceptionally well in Telugu states collecting Rs. 6.10 Crores on the first day itself, but the same day collections were just Rs. 96 Lakhs for the Hindi belt. The fewer theatres given could also be a reason behind the lesser collections. These numbers need to multiply today, too, for the film to have a healthy weekend.

On the other hand, Kamal Hassan’s Vikram is doing a terrific job in collections and is expected to beat Vijay Thalapathy’s beast collections in just the first weekend. The film collected Rs 58 Crores gross on Day 1 in Tamilnadu. By the second day, the film crosses Rs. 100 Crores gross in the worldwide box office. The movie debuted at no. 6 in the American market on June 3rd. It already has millions of dollars in its account overseas. The flm is Ulaganayagan’s highest grosser in USA.

The Hindi movie Samrat Prithvi Raj is not doing as well as expected as it clashes with Major and Vikram. The film saw a poor first day after collecting just over Rs 10 crores. On day 2, the film is said to have collected Rs 12. 75 Crores net. Mass circuits are seeing a rise in footfalls which may rise collections on Sunday. Overall, Akshay Kumar’s film is faring very poorly compared to its expectations.
