Leo, made with an estimated budget of Rs. 250 crores, has etched its name as the highest-grossing Tamil film ever despite receiving mixed reviews. It crossed the Rs. 500 crore milestone with a total of Rs. 529 crore, surpassing Jailer, which grossed Rs. 495 crore.
The action film was released on 19th October, and after five weeks of release, the Tamil blockbuster Leo has almost exhausted its box office run, amassing Rs. 620 crore worldwide. Rs. 422 crore originated from the Indian market, with an additional Rs—199 crore from overseas audiences. Leo is now India’s second highest-grossing Kollywood film and is at the global box office trailing only behind 2.0.
