Kashmir Files Director Questions ‘Adipurush’ Film.

Famous director Vivek Agnihotri recently expressed his disapproval of “Adipurush,” in which a character claims to be God. Agnihotri contended that simply asserting godhood on film is insufficient to give it credibility. He emphasized the significance of context and credibility in the narrative.

Agnihotri used analogies to show how a person’s actual behaviour can have a big impact on how the audience perceives such claims. Credibility becomes a major problem if a character professes to be God after a history of intoxicated irresponsibility. He claimed that the public is not credulous and that portrayals of characters that play heroic figures must be compelling.

Adipurush,’ directed by Om Raut, is an ambitious project that retells the epic tale of Lord Rama and the demon king Ravana. While the film industry thrives on creative interpretations, Agnihotri’s remarks underscore the responsibility of filmmakers to maintain narrative coherence and realism, even in the realm of mythology.

Adipurush stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and many others in lead roles. The movie was released on June 16 amidst huge expectations. Unfortunately, the film failed to keep up with the expectations made by the audience and moviegoers. Especially, the movie team made drastic changes in the story and the characterizations.
