Karishma Tanna was humiliated for this

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, one of television’s most famous programmes, served as the launchpad for actor Karishma Tanna’s acting career. Despite the fact that she was a well-known personality in the television industry for the whole of her career, this stellar start did not guarantee her acting opportunities in the movies. Tanna admitted that whenever she went to film auditions, she would get comments like “You are too tall” and “Your face is too exposed since you work on TV.”

Tanna questioned the idea of a “fresh face,” which, in her opinion, the majority of directors and producers pursue these days, in a recent interview. During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, she remarked, “You need an actor to play the part, what is this fresh face?” “Many people love to follow the herd mentality, like ‘if she is a TV actor let’s not cast her, let’s cast a fresh face,'” she remarked. I have no idea what a new face is. What does the idea of a fresh face mean? Very few film directors and producers possess that sense of luck.

Every time Karishma Tanna was informed she couldn’t get the role because she is a TV performer, she felt “humiliated and dejected.” Even though things are changing right now, finding work is still not guaranteed.

She described how it felt to be rejected because she was a TV actor, saying, “It’s dejection, shame, and at the same time, I’m bewildered about why you’re placing any performer into a category. Why can’t boundaries be fuzzed? Actors are actors. There used to be clear distinctions between actors for television, movies, and theatre. Although I believe that things are improving and getting simpler, being a TV actor still presents challenges because of the impression that “yeh toh TV actor hai.” They will respect you, but it will be difficult to find employment.

Tanna revealed what she had been told by producers when she was turned down: “I was told, ‘You’re too tall, you are seen on the TV every day, we can’t take you, you are too glamorous for the role.'” There may be as many reasons why they decide not to cast you.
