Previously Kamal Haasan starred alongside Manisha Koirala and Sujata in a dual role in Indian a 1996 film that was a massive blockbuster at that time. Indian was written and directed by S. Shankar, and produced by A.M Rathnam. This action film revolves around an ex-freedom fighter and his struggles. The film helped Haasan to bag the Best Actor award and the film bagged 3 National Awards which was a remarkable achievement back then.
The film’s sequel is set to release the next year during Pongal.
