Jigarthanda DoubleX shows what Lokesh, Nelson does with films
Jigarthanda DoubleX, a standalone prequel to Jigarthanda which was released in 2014 starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles held a first release event on October 9 unveiling the film’s first track Maamadura.
The film is touted to be an upcoming Indian Tamil period action drama. The film is helmed by director Karthik Subbaraj coming back after a long hiatus. Talking about this upcoming release, producers said that the budget of the film is 100 crores and it’s not a small-scale film.
Raghava Lawrence talking about what kind of cinema is getting glorified by this generation said that old acripts will not work anymore. Directors like Lokesh, and Nelson are doing something new, they are not giving much importance to the story, and they are concentrating on the screenplay and actions.
Raghava said he also had to follow the same path and Jigarthanda DoubleX will give the answer. Thanking SJ Suryah, he further said SJ Suryah worked with Sivakarthikeyan and gave him a blockbuster this year, worked with Vishal sir and gave him a super hit so my superhit is coming next finished by saying SJ Suryah as so special.
Producer Kaarthikeyen also said that it is not a small flick by any means and the audience will understand when they watch the film onscreen. Karthik Subbaraj is coming up with such a good film after 5 years in theatres as his past two movies were released on OTT. He concluded by eagerly waiting to watch the film with the audience for Diwali.
