James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 which was released on May 5, 2023, is doing great at the U.S. box office. It received positive reviews and has grossed over $531 million worldwide, becoming the fourth-highest movie of 2023. The films continue to enjoy the good word of mouth.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times James Gunn said that his Guardians of the Galaxy franchise movies are influenced by Indian cinema. He said that, ”Indian films have a big influence on me, which reflects on the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, I have always been attracted to Indian cinema and Asian cinema more than European and American cinema”.
He further stated that Indian films don’t stick to a particular genre and shared that Indian films provide a wholesome experience as they deliver every emotion( drama, comedy, dance, and music) and all these things I have put in Guardian of the Galaxy films. He also praised Jr NTR’s performance in RRR. James Gunn currently working on DC Studios’s Superman: Legacy.
