Jada Smith said she didn’t wanna marry Will Smith.

An old videotape from 2018 has surfaced, giving a surprise peek into Jada Pinkett Smith’s genuine sentiments about her marriage to the I Am Legend actor, sparking renewed interest in the personal lives of Hollywood’s power couple, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. The actress openly discussed her reluctance to be married in 1997 and how her wedding day turned into an emotional nightmare in this shocking disclosure.

The nostalgic scene was caught on camera during an edition of their well-known programme The Red Table Talk. Jada Pinkett Smith candidly says in this eye-opening clip that she never wanted to wed Will Smith in 1997. She acknowledged feeling a lot of pressure as a young actress, especially when carrying a child, but she never had romantic aspirations of getting married.

Jada Pinkett Smith continues by talking about how her mother, Gammy, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, encouraged her to marry Will Smith after she fell pregnant with their son, Jaden. When asked about her mother’s persistence, Pinkett Smith recalled, “It was almost as if Gammy was like, ‘You have to get married, so let’s talk about the wedding.'”She continues, laughing, “I was really disappointed that I had to have a wedding. I ended up crying on the aisle because I was so angry. Jada wasn’t against the concept of committing oneself through marriage; rather, she didn’t connect with the conventional ideas of what a “wife’s” job should be.
