Indians artist who won at the international level in 2023:

Tollywood music directors MM Keeravani, Richa Chadha, Vir Das, and others made 2023 an incredible year for Indian artists, with many of them achieving international fame and recognition for their outstanding work.

The year 2023 has been particularly exciting for Indian Film Industry. The year began with RRR winning the prestigious Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. It was followed by a slew of other talented names gaining international acclaim. So, let us take a look at five such Indian celebrities who have received international acclaim. Vir Das, Richa Chadha, and MM Keeravani are among those on this list.

RRR made international headlines in early 2023 when popular composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose’s song Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song. It was the first song from both an Indian and an Asian film. It also received a Golden Globe nomination in the same category. In addition, RRR won Best Foreign Language Film and Best Song at the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards.

SS Rajamouli directed RRR, which stars Ram Charan and NTR Jr. in the lead roles. The film has been both critically and commercially successful.

 1. MM Keeravani and Chandrabose

MM Keeravani is the famous Tollywood music director who won big on the International platform. ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the prestigious Oscar and Golden Globe for best song.  RRR became the first Indian film to win a Golden Globe. Music director MM Keeravaani composed the song, which was sung by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj with lyrics by Chandrabose.

2. Vir Das

Vir Das was a big winner at the International Emmys. Vir Das won the International Emmy for Comedy in New York, his second nomination and first win. Vir Das: Landing, his Netflix stand-up special, won Best Comedy Series.

3. Richa Chadha

Richa Chadha was honored with the prestigious Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award by the Consul General of France at the Mumbai Film Festival for contribution to Hindi Cinema.

4. Ekta Kapoor

Bollywood ace producer and filmmaker Ekta Kapoor received the Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards for her contributions to Bollywood and television. She is the first female Indian filmmaker to receive the International Emmy Directorate Award.
