At last, a mainstream Indian actor is going to be seen in a Marvel series. Even though Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU) started its journey over a decade ago, only one Indian actor was cast in its plethora of movies till now. Now, it’s Farhan Akhtar who is going to be seen in the Pakistan-origin superhero web series for MCU, MS Marvel. Farhan shared this news of him being roped in the marvel project on his Instagram quipping he is grateful to the universe. His post was followed by the reactions of his near and dear. His wife Shibani Dandekar, Ace producer Karan Johar, and Actor Arjun Rampal were all happy for him. The plot of Ms. Marvel will be revolving around a teenager Kamala Khan who is living in New Jersey and is of Pakistani lineage. Her life takes a turn when the girl next door kind of Kamal finds herself with superpowers. In the Marvel comics themselves, the character is relatively new. The idea took a shape in 2015 comics. What’s the role of Farhan in this series is yet to be seen.
This is the first Muslim superhero movie. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan will also be seen in this Bisha. K . Ali directorial. The trailer was already released in the March of this year and generated enough interest. By the way, Farhan is not the first actor to star in Marvel. India theatre artist Harish Patel was cast as Karun in MCU’s Eternals movie.
