January 2024 box office collection
Many Indian films were released in January, but only a few had success impressing the Indian audience. From Bollywood to Kollywood, these films were released. Tollywood is once again leading the charts.
1. HanuMan, Tollywood
Hanuman, a Telugu superhero film directed by Prashanth Vama and starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani, Vinay Rai, and Vennela Kishore, was released on January 12th on the occasion of Sankaranthi to positive reviews. The film is set in the fictional village of Anjanadr and is the first installment of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
The superhero film was bankrolled by K. Niranjan Reddy had an estimated budget of Rs 40 crore and earned Rs 272.78 crore. The film was well received in North India without any promotions.
2. Fighter-Bollywood
Fighter is an action film directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor. The film was released on April 25 to mixed reviews and underperformed as expected. It was made with an estimated budget of Rs 250 crore and earned Rs 216.3 crore.
3. Guntur Karram, Tollywood
Guntur Karram is a Telugu film starring Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The action film was released on January 12th with a lot of expectations and received mixed reviews. The film was made with an estimated budget of Rs 200 crore and earned Rs 212 crore.
4. Captain Miller, Kollywood
Captain Miller is a Tamil epic adventure film directed by Arun Matheswaran, starring Dhanush, Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Aditi Balan, and Sundeep Kishan in the lead roles. The film is set in the British era of 1930. It was made with an estimated budget of Rs 50 crore and earned Rs 104.79 crore.
5. Ayalaan-Kollywood
Ayalaan is a Tamil science fiction film directed by R. Ravikumar, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, and Isha Koppikar. The film was released on January 12 to positive reviews. The film was bankrolled by Kotapadi J. Rajesh with an estimated budget of Rs 80 crore and earned Rs 91 crore.
6. Main Atal Hoon, Bollywood
Main Atal Hoon is a Hindi-language biographical film directed by Ravi Jadhav, starring Pankaj Tripathi as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The inspirational film was released on January 19 to positive reviews and critical appraisal. It was made with an estimated budget of Rs 20 crore and earned Rs 7 crore.
