Indian Cricketer criticized Ranbir’s Animal As ‘An Absolute Disaster’

Ranbir Kapoor‘s movie ‘Animal’ has created havoc in public with its banging release in theatres, and it grossed 425 crores in just five days. The movie is the talk of the town, and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is being praised for his excellent screenplay. However, the film has also received backlash from many audiences for its misogynist portrayal, one of them being a well-known Indian cricketer, Jaydev Unadkat.

Jaydev Unadkat is a senior Indian professional cricketer. After watching Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, the cricketer shared his review through his X handle and wrote, “What an absolute disaster #AnimalTheFilm was! Glorifying misogyny in today’s world and then tagging it as mere “traditional masculinity” and “alpha male” is a disgrace. We ain’t living in the jungles and palaces and fighting wars or going hunting anymore. It doesn’t matter how good the acting was, one shouldn’t glorify and show such acts in a movie that is watched by millions. There is a thing called social responsibility, even in the entertainment industry, that one should never forget. Just feels bad that I wasted my 3 hours to watch such a pathetically made movie.”. The post was deleted in one hour. However, the post got much-needed attention and went viral in just that little period. Some also think the film unit might have been involved and made him remove the post. What are your thoughts about the movie? Do you agree with cricketer Jaydev Unadkat? or are you just a critic who wants to watch a film without imposing personal moral ethics and values?
