I’ll make adult movies: Ekta Kapoor
One of the renowned female producers who established herself in the industry, Ekta Kapoor recently ventured jointly with Rhea Kapoor for a film, Thank You for Coming. The film has faced criticism from the audience for making an adult movie.
Ekta Kapoor who barely is active on Twitter recently made a comeback on her Twitter posting a few tweets and replying to a few netizens. The producer answered to few netizens and posted a few posts.
When one of the netizens asked her to stop making adult films, Ekta Kapoor gave a sassy reply to the guy. He wrote, “Pls stop making adult films”, to which she replied, No I’m an adult so I will make adult movies.”
Director-Producer sportingly took all the criticisms that came her way on X. Thank You For Coming co-producer talked about her venture on this movie and mentioned, “ThankYouForComimg is a little mad movie made by mad crazy partner Rhea that doesn’t smash patriarchy but tickles with feathers under its nose so all the bulls hit gets sneezed out !! There is only mad love for the film or unpalpable anger !!! (sic).”
She further added, “N me with my thrill issues wud want it no other way !!! From being trolled for ruining culture because it ‘ promotes ‘ self pleasure ( how that is ruining anything if ur keeping ur hands to yourself) to being applauded by indian n international press …”
Thank You For Coming has been directed by Karan Boolani, husband of Rhea Kapoor starring Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Shehnaz Gill, Shibani Bedi, and Kush Kapila. It’s an adult comedy film released on October 6, 2023.
