Dhanush’s Sir, the Telugu version of Vaathi has been doing wonders in both the Telugu states. The collection on day two of release was on par with the day one collection enabling it to achieve breakeven in several territories already just in a week. Dhanush’s powerful performance and Venky Atluri’s gripping direction helped the movie immensely in drawing crowds.
The action social drama film that is said to be made with a whopping budget of Rs 30 crores reportedly collected Rs 16.54 crores in four days in Telugu states and diaspora.
The latest buzz is that streaming giant Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Sir. The film is expected to premiere on Netflix in the second half of March/early April.
Samyuktha Menon played the female lead in the drama that also starred Sai Kumar, Samuthirakani, Narra Srinu, Tanikella Bharani and Hyper Aadhi in key roles. GV Prakash Kumar scored the music for the film which has cinematography by Yuvraj and is presented by Srikara Studios. Sir has been produced by Sithara Entertainments.
