Mohan Babu was born to Manchu Narayanaswamy and Manchu Lakshmamma in the Modhugulapalem village near Tirupati on March 19, 1952. He worked as a physical education instructor at the YMCA before pursuing acting. He entered the film industry as an Assistant director. After several years behind the camera, in 1974, the actor got roles in the movies Kannavari Kalalu’ and ‘Alluri Seetha Rama Raju’. The following year, Mohan Babu’s first breakthrough as an actor in the movie ‘Swargam Narakam’ achieved great success. He was the villain in the movie, leading him to play roles as a comedy villain in several movies.
Mohan Babu is one of the rare actors from the South Indian Film Industry who has been seen in more than 500 films. Some of his famous movies are Swargam Narakam, Alludu Garu, Brahma, Assembly Rowdy, Pedarayudu, and many more. He has won many awards for his work and has been seen in many versatile roles in his career.
