In a recent interview, Hiten Paintal who is the nephew of Mahabharat actor Gufi Paintal gave an update about his health. He said “He is stable and out of danger.”
Gufi Paintal who is best known for his iconic role of ‘Shakuni Mama’ in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat has been admitted to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital in Mumbai due to heart and kidney-related problems. On Saturday Gufi’s nephew Hiten Paintal gave an update about the actor’s health. “He is stable and out of danger. He was admitted 6-7 days ago due to age related health issues with his heart and kidney. He was critical but now he is stable and fine. The doctors have kept him under observation and he will be out once they are confident,” Hiten said.
It seems Gufi is 78 years old. Recently, the actor’s brother, the comedian and actor Paintal, pleaded with everyone to pray for him. Paintal gave the actor’s health information to the news organisation ANI. “Gufi Ji’s health is in terrible shape,” he declared. He has issues with his kidneys and heart. He also appealed for prayers for his well being. Gufi Paintal is hospitalised at Mumbai’s Andheri West Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital. After actor Tina Ghaai posted a picture on her Instagram account, information regarding Gufi Paintal’s health became public. She had uploaded a picture of the actor and captioned it, “GufiPaintal ji #Takleef mein hain #prarthana ki jeeye #omsairam #prayers #prayersforhealing #prayersneeded.”
With the 1975 movie Rafoo Chakkar, which also starred Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Asrani, and others, Gufi made his acting debut. He has made various TV and movie appearances. He was also in Bahadur Shah Zafar, Kanoon, Om Namah Shivay, CID, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai, and Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan, yet he is best known for his role in Mahabharat. Popular TV programmes include Jay Kaniya lal Ki, RadhaKrishn, and Shree Krishn. He has appeared in films like Suhaag, Desh Pardesh, and Dillagi.
