Gadar 2, the continuation of Gadar has launched its new song Khairiyat 3 hours ago. In this movie, Tara Singh is on his way to Pakistan to bring his son Charanjeet back, who’s now a fully-grown man. The song Khairiyat is an extremely emotional one sung by Arijit Singh – the king of romantic and melancholic melody, and Mithoon. Sayeed Quadri’s lyrical wonder expresses the pain of separation perfectly. Nobody could have done it better than him.
The music video loops between the present and the past, where we see Sunny Deol’s real life son – Karan Deol as Charanjeet, and clips from Gadar, Tara Singh cradling baby Charanjeet in his arms. We see Ameesha Patel chanting prayers with a jaap mala and in front of the diya for the safe return of her husband with her son. Clips of grown Charanjeet clenching his fist tightly onto his father’s Pagg cloth, yearning for him to come soon add to the overflowing emotions of ‘milan’ – the reunion between a family separated by fate.
