Farhan Akhtar reveals why Ranveer is the Don in Don 3 instead of SRK
Farhan Akhtar, the director of Don 3, revealed why SRK was not taken as the lead for Don 3. In an interview, Farhan said, “I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then.”
After this interview, fans have been able to calm down a little because of the logic that Farhan put through. Just like everyone ended up loving SRK after Amitabh Bachchan was replaced, Farhan is ambitious that the audience will find Ranveer Singh equally as suitable for the role too. But, on the flip side, majority of the crowd is still not ready to buy into the idea, because they’re die-hard fans of Shah Rukh and also because they think nobody can pull it off like he did in the previous two instalments.
Despite the trailer launch, the fans have tried and failed to feel the same energy in Don 3. They’re still wishing for SRK to make a cameo towards the end of the movie. SRK, the original Don, left the movie because he thought making a third part would be purely to bring the audience to the theatres, something he wasn’t interested in, so he informed the team about his exit. However, Farhan wanted to continue with the project so he found Ranveer the next suitable choice for the lead.
Currently, Ranveer Singh is celebrating the success of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at the box office.
For the longest time, people have been hissing disappointment about the lead cast replacement for Don 3. The Don Franchise is not just a set of movies, but a set of movies that SRK has done. And when that name comes through, people watch the movie for him and not the other way around. The release date is far from confirmed as of now, but sources are expecting a date in 2025.
