Just yesterday, the internet blew up with sadness when Kai uploaded a photo in his fresh new military haircut. A day before that, he had conducted a very emotional and heart-wrenching free fanmeet, to spend the last few moments with his fans before he flies off for his military journey as a social worker.
For those of you who’d like to know, Kai is one of the members of a South Korean boy band EXO along with 8 others.
The fans didn’t even get enough time to get on terms with this sudden announcement by Kai and today, there’s a photo out on EXO’s official Twitter page, the entire group standing together with Kai in the middle, posing for one last time before it becomes minus one. For his admirers, who have seen EXO grow as a band and Kai as a person since day one, this post unfolds a lot of mixed emotions, a hurricane in the heart that’s too fast to process, too catastrophic to remain calm about.

Fans were well-aware of his interest in the military but they were not expecting a preponement in the departure. He was still pretty interactive since his solo album launch in March and also an anticipated concert in August, all of which has come to a pause due to the change in the Military Manpower Administration’s regulations.
Although with a heavy heart, the fans still wish Kai all the very best for his brave journey and hope to see him back on stage soon.
