Dil Raju Faces A Big Blow From Producer’s Council

A few years ago, during Rajinikanth’s Peta release, producer Dil Raju strongly opposed dubbing films being released during important festival seasons such as Dasara and Sankranthi. He said that to keep the Telugu film industry afloat, he believes that straight Telugu films should be given more number of theaters than the dubbed movies.

Remembering this statement, Producers Council gave big shock to Dill Raju who is hot on wheels to release his film Varisu during Sankranthi. Although the producers claim it is bilingual, it is actually a dubbed film. Sharing the same, in a recent interview with a Tamil channel, director Vamshi Paidipally stated that the film is “proper Tamil movie.” Even during the TFI strike, Dill Raju continued the shooting of the film, saying it is not a Telugu movie.

Now this became con to the Producer. In Nizam and Vizag where Dill Raju holds more theaters, the council reminds him to give more theaters to straight releases like Chiru’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s “Veera Simha Reddy”.

With this, it seems like the producer is left with no other choice than postponing the release date of Varisu in Telugu.
