Dev Patel is earning praise for his directorial debut, Monkey Man, which also stars Sobhita Dhulipala and Sikandar Kher in prominent roles.

Patel dedicated a decade of his career to the creation of Monkey Man, in which he also stars as the lead. Since its SXSW premiere last month, the action thriller has received widespread accolades from critics and spectators.

So, when asked about the prospect of a Monkey Man sequel, Dev did not rule it out, but he did concede that he is not ‘trying’ to get ahead of himself.

Chatting to Variety at the Monkey Man LA premiere, Dev discussed whether he would return for more in a sequel. He explained: “I’m trying not to get ahead of myself. It’s been a massive undertaking merely to give birth to this small thing, which may sound clichéd. “This is a dream come true.”
