Chandu Champion is Kartik Aaryan’s next movie with Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan. The excellent prestige that these names hold are like magnets, pulling the audience towards them. Chandu Champion is a biopic of a respectful sportsperson Murlikant Petkar, whose courageous, inspiring story has been broomed under the rug for too long. Indian Cinema has finally bat their eye on this real-life superstar and make his life journey shine in front of the world to witness.
Today, on Instagram, Kartik Aaryan posted the first look of Chandu Champion with the caption, “When INDIA is written on your chest, it’s a DIFFERENT feeling 🇮🇳 Proud to be playing a Real Hero 🙏🏻A Man Who Refuses To Give Up.”
Truly, his caption expressed how inflated his pride is right now, to have worked on-screen as Murlikant Petkar who has contributed greatly to the country’s sports achievements. Although he’s not very technologically active, to sit with him and savour the nitty gritty of his journey is something unmissable. With just 10 followers on Twitter and one tweet, his socials are about to blow up after the movie’s release.
For the unversed, Murlikant Petkar is India’s First Paralympic Gold Medalist Swimmer and Padma Shri Awardee 2018. Coming from a small region of Sangli city in Maharashtra, he never knew what his life had in store. The tragedy and miracle of his life began when he got disabled during the Indo-Pakistan war in 1965 as a jawan of the Indian Army. However, it only boosted him to push his limits further. With his undying spirit, he switched to swimming and sports after resigning from military due to the wounds.
Currently aged 79, Petkar’s struggles haven’t gone fruitless. Though he didn’t make any of these heroic decisions for public recognition, his stars shone bright and brought to him the show-stopping attention that he deserves.
News about Chandu Champion’s release in Eid 2024 is circling the internet although there’s not official announcement yet. After Satyaprem Ki Katha‘s massive success, Kartik is ready to explore his skills with his debut role in a biopic.
