Chandramukhi is one iconic movie in superstar Rajinikanth’s career and in Telugu and Tamil film industries. It paved the way for Horror comedy genre movies which have been plenty since then. Released in 2005, Chandramukhi created an immediate sensation and was a worldwide superhit. In the 17 years since its release, there was often talk about making a sequel to this iconic movie. The director of the film, P Vasu too expressed interest but it didn’t materialize since Rajini was reluctant. Unable to control his passion for the movie, Vasu made a sequel with Victory Venkatesh and released it as Nagavalli in 2010. The film tanked at the box office.
After all these years, P Vasu’s passion for Chandramukhi is still burning and yet again, he returns with the sequel named Chandramukhi 2. Raghava Lawrence will be seen in the protagonist role this time. The first look is intriguing as the same room Chandramukhi was shown in the poster. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project while MM Keeravani will provide the tunes. Lawrence and Vasu earlier worked together for the Sivalinga movie which was a horror-comedy too. To be honest, Lawrence has already bored the people with his continuous horror-comedy films since Muni which are becoming a sort of monotony. How will P Vasu will deal with this problem has to be seen.
