Bollywood hit a century of 100 Crores!

Hindi Film Industry, aka Bollywood, has achieved a unique record with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. As the movie crossed the Rs 109 Crore net in India, it became the 100th film of Bollywood to do so. The Karthik Aryan-Kiara Advani starrer has gained positive talk from the first show itself and became the biggest hit of Karthik’s career so far. In this way, it surpassed Akshay Kumar’s Suryavamshi collection. The Anees Baazme directorial has been going strong through the domestic circle, too, even after movies like Anek and Top Gun Maverick entered the race.

Coming to the Rs 100 crore club, the first film in this club was released way back in 1994. Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit starrer Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was the first Hindi movie ever to collect Rs 100 crores domestically, and it even breached the Rs 200 crores mark worldwide. Since then, 99 films, including Bhool Bhulaiyaa breached the mark, making it a century. It’s noteworthy that there are a lot of flops in the 100-crore list. Considering the wide market Bollywood has because of the Hindi-speaking regions, Rs 100 Crore club, has become a little easy now. After Dangal, Baahubali, and KGF, the new target for the Indian films must be Rs 1000 Crore, if not Rs 1500 Crore.
