After a break, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is coming back to the silver screen as Bimbisara. Directed by Mallidi Vasisht, this socio-fantasy film’s plot is on the lines of Magadheera. It will show the incarnation of an ancient ruthless king called Bimbisara into the modern world. The recently released trailer has impressed one and all. As a result, the director Vasisht has struck gold in the industry. It’s being said that many makers have already been giving advances to him to give him a chance in their banners. Kalyan Ram has the reputation of having a good hand for debut directors. Whoever had made a blockbuster with him while debuting as a director, has gone on to become successful. Surender Reddy and Anil Ravipudi are two fine examples of this. Now, it seems like Mallidi Vasisht too will join that list.
Coming back to Bimbisara.. Catherina Tresa, Samyuktha Menon and Warina Hussian will be seen alongside Kalyan Ram. MM Keeravani is providing the tunes. The movie will be released on August 5th. If the reports are to be believed, the movie has done a good pre-release business. While the Pataas actor’s previous movies have done business around Rs 12 Crores, Bimbisara is said to have made Rs 15 Crores for theatrical rights. Considering the amount that would be earned by selling satellite, OTT and remake rights, the film is already in a profit zone, says the trade sources. The actor himself produced the movie on the NTR Arts banner. Kalyan Ram has three movies in hand currently. One is called Devil: The British Secret Agent and the other two are yet to be named.
