Raveena Tandon Rejected Chaiya Chaiya
Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora’s Chaiya Chaiya song from the Dil Se movie is an all-time classic. Our bodies cannot stop grooving to the song whenever it is played. Malaika Arora has gained good recognition and fame as a dancer, and she is still known and appreciated for her fantastic performance in the song. After the rejection from actress Raveena Tandon, Malaika was offered Chaiya Chaiya by Mani Ratnam.
In a recent interview, actress Raveena Tandon recalls, “I had just done Sheher Ki Ladki, right? And it had become a very big hit. Organically, Chaiyya Chaiyya came to me, and I remember SRK saying that ‘Mani sir wants to talk to you because he wants you to do the song for us’.” she added, “And I was in a very awkward situation because although I was dying to work with Mani Ratnam Sir but then just being offered an item song again, it would have been stereotyping myself, and in those days people used to get typecast, you used to get stereotyped.” Do you think Chaiya Chaiya would have become as famous as now if Raveena Tandon were in the place of Malaika?
