Baahubali Producer slams Oscar Winner!

RRR is one movie that has completed 100 days of release and yet it is in the news one way or the other. Even though the film is about the strong friendship values and the brotherly bond between two like-minded persons, a few western audiences understood it otherwise. They called the movie a film about gay love which is absolutely the wrong side of understanding. Now, sound designer Resul Pookutty, who had won Oscar for his work in Slumdog Millionaire too has joined the club of calling RRR a gay film. A Bollywood director named Munish Bharadwaj tweeted “Saw 30 minutes of garbage called RRR last night” from his Twitter. To this Resul replied ‘Gay Love Story’.

As soon as Resul tweeted that, RRR fans all over India started bashing him left and right. Many fans asked him how he is still continuing in the film industry. Some alleged that the Oscar-winning sound designer has his eyes closed with too much pride in himself. Resul answered many fans in an apologetic way that it’s not his opinion and he merely quoted what some western audiences are thinking. One among the RRR fans who retorted is Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda.

He said that he was very disappointed with Resul’s tweet. “I don’t think RRR movie is a gay love story as you say but even if it was, is a gay love story a bad thing? How can you justify using this? Extremely disappointed that someone of your accomplishments can stoop so low” tweeted Shobu. Resul tried to explain his reason behind the tweet. “Agree totally. Absolutely nothing wrong even if it was. I merely quoted 2 my friend, the banter that already exists in the public domain and nothing else. There is no stopping factor in this. You don’t have to take it seriously Shobu. I didn’t mean any offense to any stakeholders. I rest my case here” concluded the Oscar awardee.
