Anurag Kashyap and Aaliyah Kashyap
Anurag Kashyap is a proud and doting father to Aaliyah Kashyap who strongly supported her through the difficult times of her engagement, when everyone was spewing hate on her for making it official with her long-distance boyfriend Shaun Gregoire at the early age of 22. But, their father-daughter relationship wasn’t always like this. Back when Aaliyah was born in 2001, Anurag Kashyap was a budding filmmaker and hence had to spend more time on sets than at home, raising his daughter.
Now when she has grown up, he looks back with a painful recall and admits that he regrets not being able to spend as much time with Aaliyah when she was younger. He also shared that Aaliyah would come to his sets to visit him and because of that, her friendship with Ida Ali deepened. In turn, Aaliyah was more connected with Imtiaz Ali (Ida’s father) than her own. Although Anurag Kashyap is relieved that she sought company of someone as great as Imtiaz, but he still wishes he was able to be there for her.
For the unversed, Imtiaz Ali is a superhit filmmaker who pockets credits of movies like Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009), Rockstar (2011), Highway (2014) and Tamasha (2015). His daughter Ida Ali is aged 23 as of 2023. As for Kashyap, he was married to Aarti Bajaj until 2009 and later married Kalki Koechlin and got separated in 2015. Currently, Anurag is single. Kalki Koechlin is the Indian actress who played ‘Aditi’ (Naina Talwar’s best friend) in YJHD.
