Akkineni Akhil’s latest release Agent was released on a high note and miserably bombed at the box office. Directed by Surrender Reddy, Agent was finally released on April 28 of this year after a postponement several times since 2021.
On its release day, the film collected just over 5 crore gross in total. The film did a great business of nearly 38 crores. With the trailers and songs, it is expected that Akhil will definitely smash the box office. After the weekend, the film struggled to acquire at least more than 30 per cent out of 38 crores.
The film was produced by Anil Sunkara on the AK Entertainments banner. Akhil’s mother Amala also backed the film, while all criticising Akhil. Today, producer Anil Sunkara also shared some insights into where the film failed to entertain the audience.
According to him, Covid was the primary reason followed by multiple delays. He also stated that without having a bounded script, the makers took the film onto sets. Amidst all these reasons, the film genre is a complete action spy thriller but was not gripping to the audience for some reasons.
