Anil Kapoor asks for a chance in Kollywood expressing his interest to do a Tamil film

Bollywood senior actor Anil Kapoor, who visited Chennai recently, talked about his cherished moments with Kollywood actors and associated memories. Actor Anil Kapoor says he is not surprised by the waves of South films that are created across India as he believes the makers there always championed good movies and storytelling.

He further shared his interest in working on Tamil films.”I have acted in Telugu, Kannada & Malayalam films. But I haven’t had the chance to watch a Tamil film yet, and it has always been on my bucket list. I am surprised that while there are so many talented directors in Tamil Cinema, No one has offered me a role. I am open to working with directors of all experience levels.” he added.

He further talked about how Tamil films have significantly shaped his career, as his most successful films were remakes of Tamil films. He added that he has no issues asking filmmakers for work as he goes out of his way to approach filmmakers whose work he admires, expressing his interest in collaborating with them.

Anil Kapoor also shared his memory with the singer late Sri Balasubramanyam. He said that they became very close during Vamsa Vruksham, a 1980 Telugu film SPB dubbed for him in both Telugu and Kannada. He stated he admires Balasubramanyam a lot and is one of the most excellent human beings he has ever met, who taught him to stay grounded and be down to earth. He further adds that he considers SPB a true gift from god.
