200 days of RRR in Japan Box Office, reached 2 billion!

RRR is a movie every Indian – I mean, even non-Indians – has by now heard about. Originally filmed in Telugu, this movie is a creation by S. S. Rajamouli that has skyrocketed beyond everybody’s expectations.

It is one thing to aim to win over Tollywood and it’s another thing to end up reaching International Cinema. Do you believe me when I say it’s been a whole year since RRR got out and it’s still shining bright on theatre screens?

Made out of cherished Indian actors and actresses like Ram Charan, NTR Jr, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and many more, the national box office collection is 275 crores. Worldwide, however, is over 1200 crores. Mathematically, only up to 22% of this massive success is from India. This is a clear indication that the movie has been valued far more overseas.

Today, it has touched another striking milestone. In Japan, is has completed 200 days in theatres and has collected JPY 140 million (Rs. 119 crores) already. RRR is an epic piece of commendable cinematography with multiple genres like Action, adventure, drama, and historical drama.

Because of its mass success, it has become the 3rd highest-grossing Indian film of all time. And it doesn’t cease there, RRR is still in cinemas across continents, continually breaking its own record.

Apart from the entire movie, the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is also a huge hit with 146 million views on YouTube alone.
