Are you Cynophobic, why are people scared of Dogs read to know

Every individual fears some other things, but when someone has extreme fear, gets anxious in contact with a situation, object or an animal, and finds it hard to deviate when they dislike the subject they fear, that is when it is termed as a phobia. Some fear people, while a few might fear both animals and humans.

The word Phobia shares the Greek origin, referred to as Phobos, meaning fear. Phobias are based on previous experiences, loss, unpredictable nature, cultural differences or backgrounds and internal and external factors. A few phobias associated with the fear of animals are Cynophobia, Ophidiophobia, Arachnophobia and Mysophobia.

The fear of dogs is referred to as Cynophobia. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 4) suggests that Phobia is associated with the fear of cats and dogs and is a sub-type of Animal phobia. Most individuals have Cynophobia, and while a few get over it, others find it challenging to get over. For instance, if an individual is bitten or hurt by a dog or a cat, the animal’s presence could get them anxious. Most individuals find it hard to accept the creature’s presence in front of them and most often request or prefer not to go to places without the creature.
