Karan Johar on using Lakshya to face Nepo mafia

Karan Johar on launching new face

Bollywood Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar recently attended the premiere of actor Lakshya’s starrer action thriller film “Kill” at the Toronto International Film Festival. Kill is a joint production venture between Karan Johar’s Dharma Production and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment.

Kill starring Raghav Juyal, Tanya Maniktala, and Lakshya in the lead roles. Lakshya making his debut with this film was well received by the international audience. In a recent interview, KJo was asked if launching Lakshya with Kill was a reminder to people who call him Nepo Mafia!

The filmmaker responded by saying that the reminder “is in your face. “You criticize us for everything. You curse us. You speak about the fact that we support and encourage nepotism, nepo babies, all the flak that comes to us.” He continued, “I wanna say if you give us the flak, then today give us the credit. Lakshya is a rank outsider. This is a very expensive film mounted entirely on him. We have produced it, we have funded it, and Dharma Productions has funded it. The money, the risk is all ours.”

Talking about Lakshya and the thriller film Kill, KJo gave credit to co-producer Guneet Monga for approaching him with this film and being a creative backbone to this project. Approval Mehta and KJo are completely convinced to invest their money into this film when seeing the construction of the film by Nikhil Bhat, director of the film Kill.

Kjo appreciating the young talent cast in the film said Raghav Juyal, How fantastic is he as an antagonist? I have seen him on reality shows but no one would believe him as the antagonist. With Lakshya, a star is born because he just had the body language to hold the frame.
