Koffee with Karan is one season that gets enough attention from the audience, who are always up to date about the actor’s life outside the industry. The recent episode has Mother-son duo Saif Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore as the guests.
Sharmila Tagore shared many incidents and anecdotes about the actor in his youth. She shared some warm memories and recalled how Saif’s separation from Amrita Singh was not harmonious.
When Saif opened up about confronting every aspect of his life to his mother first and about his first marriage with Amrita and separation, she said she was okay supporting him but recalled how it was not a harmonious time later to spend with.
She stated, “When you are together for such a long time, and have such lovely children, no break up is easy. Then it is not harmonious… I know it is difficult to have harmony at that stage, everybody is hurt… so that stage was not nice, but I tried. But that’s water under the bridge, she needed time to cool down.” She said she was unhappy as they lost Amrita and kids Sara and Ibrahim.
Saif Ali Khan later dated Kareena Kapoor for a while and married the actress in 2012. The couple also has two kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan.
