Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, released in 2023, received praise from a significant set of audiences in the initial days after the film’s release. However, gradually, the movie started getting hated and heavily criticised by a section of the audience. People were concerned and uncomfortable about the depiction of violence and toxic masculinity. The audience does not accept the inappropriate behaviour towards the female lead in the film. While many prominent personalities expressed their disappointment, many defended the movie by saying that “it is just a film.”
Now, the singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh joins the list of celebs who support Ranbir starrer Animal. On Thursday morning, the rapper took his Instagram account and shared a snap of the film. He extended his support in the caption, writing, “Now got the chance to watch this amazing movie ANIMAL. i must say sandeep reddy vanga is indian TARANTINO! Big up to the revolution in indian cinema f*** the haters ! Wat a screenplay n performances big up RANBIR KAPOOR.”
The hatred for the film was fueled after the famous writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar expressed his concerns and gave a statement that ‘the success of the film Animal is dangerous.’ the film was released on December 1st and stars Ranbir Kapoor Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, along with Triptii Dimri and Shakti Kapoor playing pivotal roles. The film’s end credits have hinted towards its sequel, Animal Park.
