The Antagonist of Bahubali Fame reveals the movie’s finance

The Antagonist of Bahubali Fame is Rana Duggabati, who primarily works in Telugu films. During a recent interaction with the media, he disclosed how much money is invested in the Telugu film industry. He talked about the Bahubali franchise’s financiers and how they invested money in the movie.
He discussed how movie producers pay extremely high-interest rates while raising funds for their productions. “There was money in the movies three or four years ago. They (the filmmakers) either committed their home or other property to the bank, which was paid back with interest. We used to pay interest of between 24 and 28 percent. The borrowing in films is like that. Borrowing between Rs 300 and Rs 400 crore at such interest for a movie like Baahubali.
Rana also revealed to the public that the film’s creators had borrowed more than Rs 180 crore at 24 percent interest over a period of five and a half years when the first portion of the movie was published. “Part 1 was difficult. We spent twice as much money on Telugu’s biggest-grossing movie. Therefore, no maths has ever justified what we borrowed or how we made it. 180 crores and more were borrowed for 5.5 years at a 24 percent interest rate. If this movie didn’t go well, we didn’t sure what would happen because we also shot a small portion of Baahubali 2.
