Kangana Ranaut’s Parallel with Amitabh Bachchan

In a recent speech at an election rally, Kangana Ranaut, the actor-turned-politician, drew a comparison between herself and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Ranaut, who is currently the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, claimed to have received a level of love and respect second only to Bachchan within the Indian film industry.

National Award Winners Both actors, though having never shared screen space, were recipients of the National Awards in 2016. Ranaut was honored with the Best Actress award for her role in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, while Bachchan secured the Best Actor award for his performance in ‘Piku’. Bachchan’s appreciation for Ranaut’s talent was evident when he sent her bouquets and a letter praising her performances in ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.

She said (during a rally), “”Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai.”

Upcoming Biopic: Emergency Ranaut’s next cinematic venture is the biopic ‘Emergency’, where she steps into the shoes of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film is penned by Ritesh Shah, who also wrote ‘Dhaakad’. Despite the latter’s box office failure, expectations are high for ‘Emergency’. The film boasts a stellar cast including Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, and Shreyas Talpade.

The article concludes by highlighting Kangana Ranaut’s assertion of her stature in the film industry, paralleling that of Amitabh Bachchan. Her upcoming role as Indira Gandhi in ‘Emergency’ is eagerly anticipated, and her journey from actress to politician continues to captivate the public’s interest.
