T-Series response to the Nepal Adipurush Ban – Diplomatic problem solving?

The first controversy to list in the book of ‘everything that’s wrong with Adipurush’ was when Nepal stopped the release of the movie in Kathmandu, Nepal. Mayor Balendra Shah noticed a dialogue “Janaki is the daughter of India,” which he found extremely problematic. He appealed T-Series and director Om Raut to remove that sentence from all versions of the movie, which, if not done, will not be released in Nepal. One who has done a thorough reading into Ramayana will know that Sita was actually born in Nepal.

With this, the team of Adipurush saw their downfall. Nepal has completely rejected the idea, while people in India are comparing its VFX with PubG and Playstation. This issue thar arose in Nepal turned several heads, everybody biting their nails, awaiting the response from T-Series and director Om Raut. T-Series finally responded back to Nepal’s demand.

The company sent out an official letter to Kathmandu, apologizing for the blunder and that it was not in their ‘intention’ to hurt their sentiments. It’s ridiculous to see how one can just ‘apologize’ instead of remaining cautious at the time of filmmaking. What happened to ‘prevention is better than cure’? Just to receive a few hoot-hoots, applauds and roars in the theatres, merely because it sounds ‘patriotic’, they changed Sita’s birthplace? What better of an outcome were they expecting? In the end, they have made the necessary alterations in the scene and re-rolled it.

#Boycottadipurush is a trending hashtag on social media handles. Expectantly, the pace of its degrade is surely indicating one.
