Sophia Vergara know best for her role as Gloria on the popular family sitcom, Modern Family and Joe Manganiello from movies, like the Magic Mike franchise recently called it quits after nearly eight years of marriage. The pair confirmed to a popular news outlet that they have “made the difficult decision to divorce.”
Upon reaching out to their public representatives the two actors gave a joint statement reading, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce.” “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
A part from the statement from Joe and Sofia’s team, a source close to the couple revealed, “Sofia and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.” Another source told a popular outlet that “Sofia and Joe have been living separate lives. They have been spending time apart and focusing on themselves, their careers, and their loved ones.”
While another added, “Sofia has been giving her all to her new beauty brand, toty, and is very involved and excited about it. She hosted an event to celebrate the launch towards the end of June at her home in Los Angeles, and Joe was not there. She did still have a framed photo of the two of them kissing set up in a room in her home.”
Netizens began speculating that Joe and Sofia’s marriage was on the rocks when the usually loving husband only wrote “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!” , translating to happy birthday Sophia, for the Instagram post he made for her birthday. The speculations continued as the model and actress took a birthday vacation to Italy without husband Manganiello.
In one post from her trip, Vergara wrote, “When life gives u lemons u come to Italy to squeeze them.” This has come as heart-breaking news for fans of the two who took to social media to share their thoughts, “What happened I actually want to know for once, they seemed great together” and “Why they are perfect for each other.” Another user expressed their distress with the comment “No! If these two gorgeous people can get sick of being together, what about us mere mortals???”
