Religious discrimination still exists: Amala Paul

The actress visited the famous Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in Ernakulam, Kerala, on Monday, when she was allegedly refused darshan by temple authorities, citing customs that allow only Hindus inside the premises. The actor claimed she was refused darshan, forcing her to glimpse the Goddess from the road in front of the temple.

Amala Paul, a Christian by faith, has cited her religion and alleged ‘religious discrimination’ following her ordeal. Amala has not made any public statement on the incident yet. Still, she reportedly wrote about her experience in the temple’s visitors’ book, “It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023. I couldn’t go near the Goddess but could feel the spirit from a distance. I hope there will be a change in religious discrimination soon. The time will come, and we all will be treated equally and not on the basis of religion,”

Amala Paul’s recent movie ‘Cadaver’ was a superhit thriller movie. She was also seen in the Malayalam movie Teacher. Her upcoming projects include Ajay Devgan’s Bhola, an official remake of Karthi’s superhit Kaithi.
