Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is creating a lot of buzz in Bollywood. Despite not being officially announced yet, the excitement among the audience is immense. While it is confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will essay the role of Lord Ram, the information about the rest of the cast is still doing rounds.

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol, and Yash will be seen as Lord Hanuman and Demon King Ravana. The upcoming project is said to be a magnum opus with its weaving of mythology and technology. However, recent developments have left fans curious about the film’s production.

With every week, a new buzz surrounding the film has been making headlines since the announcement, now the actor who would play the role of Lakshmana is said to be finalised. latest reports talk about the casting of Lakshmana, a key character in the epic Ramayana. If reports are to be believed, TV actor Ravi Dubey is being eyed for the role of Lakshman. An official confirmation about the same is still awaited though.

Ravi Dubey has been a part of TV shows like Saas Bina Sasural, and Jamai Raja. He has also appeared in multiple web series such as Matsya Kaand and Lakhan Leela Bhargava (LLB). He made his film debut in the 2019 film 3 Dev and hasn’t appeared in any film since then. If reports are indeed true, Ramayana will be the breakthrough for the actor. He is also a producer and director.

According to the latest sources close to the film’s development, it is informed that Namit Malhotra, the CEO of DNEG—an Oscar-winning VFX company—will now be part of Ramayana’s production.

Meanwhile, Vijay will no longer be a part of Ramayana, and Harman Baweja will play the role of Vibhishan. The filmmakers plan to announce the film grandly on April 17, i.e., on Ram Navami’s auspicious occasion. The epic saga is slated to release in cinemas as a trilogy.

The film’s first part is expected to be released in Diwali in 2025, and the rest of the two will follow. The last instalment will depict the epic war between Vaanar Sena and Ravana’s army and will conclude with Ravana’s defeat and Lord Ram’s triumphant return to Ayodhya with Sita.
