The film is the biopic of Indian cricketer and captain Sourav Ganguly. Bollywood versatile actor Ayushmann Khurrana plays the role of Sourav Ganguly in this biopic.
Interestingly, His daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, helms this biopic, seeing Rajinikanth in an extended cameo. The film was announced in 2021, though nothing about the cast and crew was officially announced back then; last summer, in 2023, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the biopic of Sourav Ganguly and the lead actor.
Rajinikanth in Bollywood?
Contrary to speculations, Rajinikanth will not be portraying the lead role in this project. According to sources close to the film development, it is reported that Rajinikanth will be playing a pivotal role, appearing in a special cameo.
As for Rajinikanth’s involvement, it remains to be seen whether he will take on a guest role in the biopic or play a different part altogether. An official confirmation on the same is expected to be out soon.

Well, rumors rifled between Ranbir Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana. Still, Ranbir refuted the rumors while the sources have told about the makers in constant talks with Ayushmann for months, making the possibility of him in the lead.
The film is currently under post-production work. Sajid Nadiadwala plans to release the movie for Ganesh Chaturthi if possible or during any available date surrounding festivals or long weekends.
