Jaya Prada Sentenced To Jail Time:
Veteran 80’s star heroine, Jaya Prada has been given a 6 month sentence in jail by the Chennai court due to a case from long ago. The actress has also been fined with a 5000 rupee charge. Along with the heroine, her business partners Ram Kumar and Raja Babu were also found guilty.
The case is regarding a movie theater the actress and her business partners owned together long ago in Chennai. Unfortunately, the theater had to close down a while ago due to losses. Jaya Prada allegedly failed to repay the ESI deducted from the staff’s salaries and now is being taken to court for the same.
The Labour Government Insurance Corporation filed a case against Jaya Prada, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu at the Egmore Magistrate Court in Chennai. The court heard the case and, in light of all the presented information, came to the verdict of imprisonment and fine.
Jaya Prada was quick to acknowledge her misstep and vowed to return the due amount to the theater staff, while requesting that the court dismiss the case. To her dismay, the court rejected her request and sentenced her to 6 months jail time and a 5000 fine.

The actress gave up her flourishing film career to pave her way into politics and is an active member of the Bhartiya Janata Party.
