Harish Shankar is a notable director who has blockbusters to his name and yet always searches for the next project. He didn’t have a project in hand after the release of Gaddalankonda Ganesh. Now, reports are arising that the director is looking at the remake of the Hindi super hit film Raid. The Ajay Devgan starrer was a commercial and critical hit.
If the reports are true, Harish is planning the movie with one of the Mega family heroes. It’s yet to be decided who it is. But Harish, Hindi remake, and Mega family have a strong connection. Bollywood superhit Dabaang was remade with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan as Gabbar Singh and it was the biggest hit of Harish’s career till date. Harish now wants to repeat the magic and has chosen the movie Raid.
Raid’s plot is based on a real-life incident in the 1980s. An income tax raid was conducted on an industrialist named Sardar Inder Singh which continued for 3days and two nights. That was the longest raid in Indian history. Taking this incident as the base, writer Ritesh Shah and director Raj Kumar Gupta filmed the movie starring Ajay Devgan and Ileana D’cruz in lead roles. The movie went on to become a box office hit. Well, if Harish wants to remake this with one of the mega heroes, who will suit the bill? Let’s wait and see.
