Funny: PM Modi and SRK’s Chhaiya Chhaiya

It is a proud moment for Shah Rukh Khan that his work is presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India in front of the whole world. The King of Bollywood, deservingly so, has done a super saga song Chhaiya Chhaiya sung by the phenomenal Sukhwinder Singh that touched 35 million views from his movie Dil Se – that completed 25 years last month.

At White House on Thursday, hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden arranged a grand ceremonial in the welcoming of PM Modi. His arrival was garnished with a beautiful performance by the American A cappella group, Penn Masala, who presented to the audience, their version of Dil Se’s Chhaiya Chhaiya, representing India’s rich culture to the whole planet. For the unversed, It is the world’s first and premier South Asian a cappella group formed in 1996 by students at the University of Pennsylvania. The group has performed at the White House, the Indian Filmfare Awards, and for prominent leaders including Ban Ki-moon and Mukesh Ambani. The group also had a cameo role in Pitch Perfect 2.

Penn Masala currently consists of: Saaketh Narayan, Albert Gu, Vishvesh Dhar, Sachit Gali, Riju Datta, Venugopal Chillal, Samarth Nayak, Ajay Kilambi, Prateek Adurty, Raghunandan Raman, Aryaman Meswani, Gaurish Gaur, and Rohit Rajagopalan.
